Winter Warmth Drive with the Salvation Army!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, our Social Impact team collected over 100 winter-weather items -- including hats, gloves, socks, and coats -- for The Salvation Army.

Mission

The mission of our Social Impact Committee is to engage with local initiatives that allow us to make a direct impact within our community and use our expertise to support critical projects.

Objective

Establish a youth and next generation outreach strategy through a youth mentoring programs and activities that equip young participants with foundational project management skills, knowledge, and tools, enabling them to effectively plan, execute, and deliver successful projects.

Goals

• Develop a targeted youth outreach strategy for the Upstate community
• Promote the benefits of project management methodology in a way that is relatable and provides opportunity for a two-way conversation
• Form partnerships with established local schools, colleges, and other organizations who service the betterment of our youth
• Host an annual project management event that provides the youth with fun, engaging opportunities for practical skill-building and highlights our community involvement
• Provide volunteer opportunities for our members to give back to the community while earning PDUs
• Increase the visibility of the PMI Palmetto chapter and project a positive image of the PMI and the project management profession
