About Us
Our Chapter
PMI Palmetto Chapter is a voluntary, 501(c)(6) not-for-profit association dedicated to being the recognized leader in Project Management Excellence by developing passionate project managers through professionalism, mastery, and involvement.
Chartered in 1985, we are only one of over 280 Chapters serving Project Management Institute (PMI) members and communities in more than 70 countries around the world. These local communities help spread awareness of the profession and PMI by reaching out to local governments and organizations, hosting events or seminars for local practitioners, and providing opportunities to learn, network, and earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward maintaining credentials.
Vision
Advance the community of Project Managers in personal growth and professional development while creating opportunities to build relationships and a lasting network.
Mission
1. Advance the PM profession through the promotion of PMI certification training and project excellence acknowledgment.
2. Provide members and volunteers with networking, leadership roles and superior development and education events and activities,
3. Ensure alignment with the PMIs talent triangle, compliance with PMIs core values, and contribution to the improvement of the PM body of knowledge.
Project Management Resource for the Palmetto Area
PMI Palmetto sponsors Preparing for the PMP Examination for professionals seeking certification, as well as workshops, seminars, and conferences for members throughout the year. The Chapter holds monthly dinner meetings, a monthly networking event, and forums with additional programs and events throughout the year designed to meet membership needs.
Prospective members are always welcome to attend meetings and do not need to be accompanied by a member. Attending one of the programs or events is a good opportunity for prospective members to meet professionals involved in project management and to learn more about the profession.
