We are committed to the continuous improvement and expansion of the PMBOK® Guide, as well as the development of additional standards.
PMI membership opens up a world of opportunity - sharing ideas and experiences, accessing industry information, attending seminars and workshops on leading-edge topics, increasing your professional exposure through networking and project participation, and gaining leadership experience. You do not have to be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) to join PMI.

Join the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Applying is easy.
You do not have to be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) to become a member. All you have to do is complete a Membership Application and pay the annual dues. Application for membership can be made either online or via mail. Annual memberships are as follows:
- Individual Membership
- Student Membership
- Retiree membership is available for those individuals who have officially retired from the work-force and would like to continue to engage and be involved with PMI. To qualify you must have: 1) officially retired from active work and 2) have been a PMI member in good standing for five consecutive years. Free PMI Hardship Membership
Are you looking for work and having difficulty maintaining your PMI membership?
During these tough economic times, this comes as a reminder that PMI offers a 1-Year Hardship Provision for any PMI member whose financial condition has changed significantly, and would have difficulty renewing their membership. Under the provision PMI membership dues (including chapter membership dues) would be waived for one year. The hardship provision may be granted for a maximum of two years for each member. Details about this program are located on the back of the renewal invoice.
To qualify you must be member in good standing for the last 3 years. To apply for a hardship provision, please send an email to [email protected] and explain the nature of your hardship. Please be sure to include a copy of your renewal invoice (if possible). Please remember that any incorrect or untrue statements made by a member are in violation of the Project Management Institute Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and may lead to the initiation of an ethics complaint.

To join our chapter, you must first join the Project Management Institute ($149/year). You may join the Palmetto Chapter ($30 per year) when you join PMI or you may add the Chapter to your membership at any time. You must be a PMI member to join a local chapter
