Tracy Palmer is currently serving as President of the PMI Palmetto Chapter. She has been a member and active volunteer of the Chapter since 2010. She volunteered on the 2011 and 2012 Symposium committee and served as Speaker Chair on the Symposium Committee 2013 - 2016. She previously served as VP of Education 2014 - 2016 and VP Programs 2016 - 2017. She currently is working as a Senior Project Manager for Regional Management. Previously she worked at Advance America, DW Finepack, Sealed Corporation and Verizon Wireless. She is a native of South Carolina and currently lives in the Upstate with her husband where she enjoys hiking, outdoors sports and spending time with family and her pets.
Bill Wann is a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) with over 13 years experience implementing, teaching and developing Agile methods and tools. Bill has worked with both small companies and large, multi-national corporations to help them transition from traditional project execution models to Agile delivery. Bill is currently engaged with a team that is evolving and maturing a Scrum/SAFe framework for project delivery leveraging distributed (global) teams. Bill has over 25 years of project management experience and is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). Additionally, he has served on non-profit boards of directors as well as managing his own educational development company.
Amanda currently serves as the VP of Programs. She works remotely for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai as the Associate Director of the Genetics Institute PMO. Amanda earned her PMP certification in 2011 while working at Merck and her MBA from Rutgers University in 2014. Amanda relocated to The Upstate from New Jersey in 2016 and has been an active member of the PMI Palmetto Chapter since then. Amanda served the chapter as VP of Special Projects in 2017. In 2016, she served as Co-Chair of the Symposium. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time on Lake Hartwell and traveling with her husband and new baby girl.
Jeani is an Enterprise Project Manager for Hubbell Incorporated. Her primary responsibilities are managing large scale projects and programs of a complex nature, of which there is an IT component. Additionally she has oversight for the MS Project Online application procedures and end user management. Jeani earned her PMP certification in 2013, and has been active with the Palmetto Chapter since coming to Greenville in 2014. She has served as Board Trustee, VP of Membership and as Annual Symposium Attendees Chair and Committee member. In her spare time, Jeani is enjoying her new role as Grandma. Other hobbies include hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, long distance running and caring for her pack of Spinone Italiano sporting dogs.
Melissa Mullis, the VP of Marketing, has been a chapter member since 2013 and a certified PMP since 2014. She also has her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. She has served for the last two years on the Symposium team as the marketing representative. Her career has spanned three industries; construction, textiles, and most recently healthcare. She is currently a project manager with Greenville Health System (GHS) in the Enterprise PMO.
Kim Mitchell is currently serving as the VP of Communications for the PMI Palmetto Chapter. She achieved her PMP in 2016 and became a member of the chapter in 2017. She is currently an IT Project Manager at Michelin. Kim relocated to Greenville, SC from Virginia in 2016 where she worked as a project manager in digital publishing. Kim stays busy keeping up with her family and 2 dogs.
Curtis Hanson, the VP of Education, has been a chapter member/certified PMP since 2017 and chapter volunteer as PDU Administrator/PMBOK Study Group Facilitator since 2018. He is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy and a veteran of the US Navy as an Engineering Duty Officer managing ship overhauls and the Merchant Marine as 3rd/2nd Assistant Engineer. Moving ashore, Curtis worked as a shift supervisor at a combined cycle cogeneration power plant before going to General Electric as a Project Manager for supplying gas turbine equipment for power plant projects. He lives in the upstate with his wife and two children where they enjoy grilling, cooking, and baking.
Kathi Soniat has served as President of PMI Palmetto from 2016-2017. Kathi has been a member of the chapter since 2010 and earned her PMP certification in 2011. She volunteered for the annual Symposium as Attendee Co-Chair from 2011-2015 and served as VP Membership during that same timeframe. Kathi is currently working as an IT Project Manager contracting with BMW Mfg. in Greer. Previously, she has worked at Tire Centers (TCi), Park Seed, Nutra and AFCO in the Upstate. Kathi has lived in the Upstate for over 25 years, and enjoys her acreage in the country with her husband where she is empty-nesting as her children are now attending college.
Lisa has been a Project Manager since 1995. She has worked in the Protective and Specialty Packing Food and Consumer goods and Engineering industries. As a project manager she has managed numerous functional and infrastructure projects. While she worked as a Project Manager, Lisa achieved her PMP certification and MBA in Project Management. Lisa has been attending PMI Palmetto Chapter meetings since 2008. She has been an active member of the PMI Palmetto Chapter Board of Directors since 2010, serving as the Director of Programs, Interim President, President and Past President. Lisa has been married for twenty eight years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, friends and pets.
Prior to retirement in 2013, Terry had over 25 years of experience in business re-engineering through the use of eCommerce technologies. Improvements included internal and external enhancements and linkages up and down the supply chain, financial and HR disciplines. Terry is a past Vice President, Special Projects of the PMI Palmetto Chapter and is currently a member of the Board of Directors in the position of Chapter Trustee. He was a member of the Steering Committee of the Chapter's Annual Symposium in 2009 - 2011 and was the Symposium Chairman in 2012 and 2013.
Richard Bivans, Senior Manager at BNC iMarketing, has over 25 years experience in Application Development, Business Consulting, Project Management and Internet Marketing. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is the Upstate's ONLY Certified LOCAL Internet Marketing Specialist (CLIMS). His focus is to help local businesses get found with a 5 STAR reputation so they Get More Customers. Mr. Bivans provides local businesses with expert educational seminars and workshops about online marketing topics in the Greenville, Anderson, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Spartanburg areas through professional, networking and civic organizations.
Wanda join the chapter in 2005, when she earned her PMP. She served on the Board as VP of Programs in 2005, and lead the Symposium as VP of Special Projects in 2006 and 2007. She has led the PMBOK Study Group from 2008 to present. She co-created and led the PMP Exam Prep class 2011-2013. As a member of the Midlands Chapter she help create and led their PMP Exam Prep class. In 2017 she represented Michelin at the GEC (Global Executive Council). In 2018 she served on the Global PMI JTA (Job Task Assessment) to determine the topics for PMBOK v7. She works at Michelin instructing project-relating classes (2012-present), and serves as the PM Competency Mgr for North America.
Pam became a chapter member in 2008 and has been PMP certified since October of 2010. She was the VP of Programs for over 4 years. Pam helped with the 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012 Symposiums, lining up speakers for three years and managing the Symposium itself one year. Pam is an IS Project Manager at Michelin and worked at their subsidiary, Tire Centers (TCi) before that. Pam has also contracted as a PM at MetLife and at Michelin. She has been living in the upstate since late 2006, having moved here from Maryland.
